Affholder Construction has an immediate need for an Electrical Superintendent to join our growing tunnel construction team. The Electrical Superintendent will design, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical engineering systems for heavy construction projects. Assist on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project teams to complete tasks on schedule and on budget. Ideal candidate is hands-on, self-motivated, and works effectively in a team or individual situations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and design electrical systems for equipment used to build heavy construction projects.
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems with the help of the project team and specifically the project electrical team.
- Develop designs and construction documents, including electrical power circuits, site lighting, site grounding, panel schedules, and one-line diagrams.
- Coordinate with power company engineers for site connections to the power grid.
- Supply site electrical designs to and oversee the work of electrical subcontractors.
- Undertake site surveys, field investigations, and condition surveys for proposed projects and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with other disciplines including mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and controls to create and update drawings and documentation.
- Communicate with and organize efforts of electrical/electronic vendors and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years electrical engineering experience that includes control systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Able to substantially produce his or her own design with limited oversight.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Adobe PDF.
- Experience/expertise with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) .
- Understanding of other Engineering Disciplines.
