Description
SAK Constructionj in O'Fallon, MO has an immediate opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant. The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for various aspects of the purchasing process for assigned region(s) including providing customer support to departmental customers, clients, coordinating purchases, obtaining proposals, and making travel arrangements.
Essential Functions

- Creating and issuing purchase orders for supplies and inventory materials in a timely manner to insure adequate delivery of goods and services.
- Monitoring all purchase orders regarding coding, product, vendor, and pricing.
- Completing and adding all new vendor applications into ViewPoint.
- Closing out POs for Contracts department.
- Importing all GMS files into ViewPoint.
- Assisting Accounts Payable with unapproved invoices.
- Making crew travel arrangements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- One year of experience in a purchasing-related environment.
- One year of Viewpoint experience.
- Knowledge of procurement and general purchasing procedures.
- Knowledge of vendor and product relationships.
- A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
- This position requires fully developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to negotiate with vendors and build inter-departmental relationships.
- Individual must be able to remain calm in difficult situations and be comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize with great attention to details and accuracy.
