SAK Construction has an immediate opening for an experienced Diesel Mechanic in our O'Fallon, MO shop. The Mechanic is responsible to completing work following department rules and regulations according to specifications to ensure equipment/vehicles are properly maintained..

Responsibilities:

1. Study Repairs and maintains construction equipment of various types and sizes from light-duty to OTR trucks and from light-duty to heavy-duty operating equipment
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions as they arise
3. Perform preventative maintenance following operations manuals as well as electrical and hydraulic diagrams/ refrigeration units/ CCTV equipment/ Heat-Exchanger equipment
4. Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools
5. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance when used
6. May fabricate, weld and cut parts, using arc-welding/ wire feed and flame cutting equipment
7. Perform DOT and BIT Inspections (BTI Terminal Program)
8. Perform related duties as requested in a team environment

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have 2+ years of experience with diesel engines.
3.  DOT/BIT and hydraulics experience preferred
4. Class B or higher CDL (or ability to obtain) required
5. Ability to work with hands, lift heavy objects and stand on your feet for long periods of time often doing repetitive motions.
